Kessa Thomas – Shelter Operations Manager

Kessa, a native of rural Charleston, SC was raised on her grandfather’s farm and helped her dad raise Siberian Huskies.

She has three furry kids of her own: Oscar, a long-haired dachshund, Otis an orange tabby, and the newest addition to the family, Maverick, a shepard/cattle dog mix.

Kessa cares for 31 shelter dogs and cats at any given time. She is attuned to each one and is excellent at matching their personality to fit with potential adopters.

Ellen Kilgannon – Executive Director

Ellen started her career with PAWS as a volunteer helping to build the shelter and then working in the PAWS Thrift Shop.

She is devoted to the care and well-being of the animals and carrying forth the organization’s mission.

When she’s not at work, Ellen can be found at home with her 5 furry kids; Bara, a plotthound mix, Jackson a beagle/dachshund/chihuahua, and 3 cats Katie, Loomis(pictured) and Binx.

Allen Anthony – Kennel Tech

Allen has been with PAWS for more than 10 years making sure everything is running smoothly, in working order and clean as a whistle.

Allen raises chickens, has a great summer vegetable garden and loves to fish and roam the mountains with his dog Jack.
